Version 1.2 coming soon...

The next version of iHearit (Slow Down, Loop & Transcribe) will be coming soon and includes a new and simplified song uploader. The new uploader is browser-based so that it will look and act the same across all platforms.

Also included will be a sample mp3, courtesy of my friend and excellent jazz drummer, Ernesto Cervini. The clip features a solo excerpt by the amazing NYC based tenor-saxophonist Joel Frahm, who is tearing it up on one of Ernesto's original compositions.

  1. Sounds good. :-) Will there also be an iPad version at some point?

  2. Hi Dew - I'm not sure...apparently it'll run on the iPad both at regular and double size. What special features do you think it's missing that the iPad could specifically help with?

  3. Thanx for your answer. :-) Primarily I am thinking about the ability to use the iPad's screen estate which would make the wave form easier to use. Besides the extra space in general, a way would be to provide the complete wave form below / above the excerpt being played so one could jump to a certain spot in the piece. Another thing is that it seems possible to share files between apps, e.g. PDF-files sent in mail can be opened in good reader. Maybe that also applies to mp3 from iTunes... Anyway, just my 2 cents ;-)

  4. Hi David,

The extra real estate on screen will be available automatically when pixel-doubling the app. The idea to show the complete wave form above is a good one, I like it. Re: file sharing, I'll be examining this capability as it unfolds. There is an inequity between pictures and mp3's on the iPhone that i hope gets addressed. Pics can be manipulated and even changed by third party apps. mp3's cannot even be accessed fully for non-destructive dsp.
I'm currently working on a simplified browser-based uploader which I hope will make things easier for users who have had trouble with the shared folder setup.

    Thanks,

    Trent
